Wayne McCarty and Paul Harwood started Superior Fitness Systems ten years ago with a simple mission:  to provide businesses and homes with the best selection of quality equipment and the most professional and knowledgeable service in the industry.  Their 40 years of combined experience in the fitness industry has helped them make that mission a reality.  As McCarty says, "We take the meaning of our company's name very seriously...Superior Fitness Systems' goal is to be the undisputed leader in the fitness industry for providing the very best information, products and equally important, continued service after the sale.  Whether it's maintenance for your equipment or ongoing fitness advice, we feel our job truly begins after you become our customer.

After starting with one store in Charlotte and a handful of commercial reps and service technicians "sprinkled" through the Carolinas, we now boast 12 retail stores from Virginia Beach, VA to Charleston, SC and all major points in between.  We also have a Used Equipment store at our corporate offices in Charlotte, where we refurbish and sell equipment that is purchased from gyms, schools, YMCA's and individuals.  These stores are complemented by a commercial sales force, a dozen service technicians and a fleet of delivery vehicles with staff to install our equipment.  Charlotte is home to our corporate offices and four of our stores. 

What sets our fitness equipment company apart from our competition is the value we add to doing business with us.  A large portion of our retail and commercial sales staff have college degrees in fitness (Exercise Science, Sports Management, Exercise Physiology) or a personal training certification.  ALL of them have a passion for fitness and include exercise as part of their personal lifestyles.  Because of this, we are able to guide customers in ways to achieve their goals, set up workout regimes and provide ongoing training programs for the staff in commercial facilities.  Service after the purchase has been a key to our success.  Lower prices from buying "direct" or on the internet may seem attractive at first.  But when your equipment breaks down, having a to place a single phone call locally, talking to a live person (not a recording) and getting a response from a service technician within 48 hours, can become quite valuable.  Our aim is to get individuals and facilities back on track as quickly as possible.  We understand how important your workouts are and how it feels to miss them.

In addition to offering equipment, Superior Fitness Systems provides an array of services.  Everything from room layouts, preventive maintenance, financing for individuals and lease programs for businesses, used equipment (buying and selling) and ongoing fitness education.  We've done business with the Carolina Panthers, NASCAR teams, the Carolina Hurricanes, Fire & Police Training Centers, as well as major universities like Duke, USC, Wake Forest, MUSC and the UNC system, just to mention a few.  Whether you're looking to get a treadmill for your home or outfit an entire fitness facility, we will take care of you in every aspect of your research, selection, installation, orientation and service.
